Vocalo.org's Live Teach-A-Thon Broadcast: September 25 & 26
Vocalo.org, 89.5 FM WBEW, invites its listeners and the public to a Teach-A-Thon on September 25 and 26 at their studios on Chicago's Navy Pier.
CHICAGO, IL, September 04, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- What: Vocalo.org, 89.5 FM WBEW, invites its listeners and the public to a Teach-A-Thon on September 25 and 26 at their studios on Chicago's Navy Pier.
At the Teach-A-Thon, Vocalo invites its listeners to showcase their expertise by giving a live, on-air demonstration on how to do something - literally anything that can be explained, step-by-step, in five minutes or less. Participants can also give their how-to demonstration on videotape. Participants are asked to bring their own props for purposes of demonstration. The event is free to the public.
NOTE: The Teach-A-Thon will be the culmination of the station's editorial initiative this month on Education called "Getting Schooled". For more information on the initiative, see the "Getting Schooled" advisory. Call Sarahlynn Pablo for a copy.
Why: "This month, we wanted to bring a new avenue to our listeners that allows them to channel their expertise and share that with others in the Lake Michigan Region," says Wendy Turner, general manager of Vocalo.org.
Who: You are the teacher - now, take us to school.
When: The Vocalo.org Teach-A-Thon live event will be held on Friday, September 25 from 3 to 7 p.m. and on Saturday, September 26 from noon to 5 p.m.
